Providing in-house education and therapeutic services

Odanadi run an in-house education scheme for girls that have learning disabilities, those who have psychological difficulties or those who have been trafficked who are not typically accepted in mainstream schools. Given the nature of their learning needs, and to support them to cope with their experiences, teachers with certain specialisms in working with these issues are required. The girls are schooled in house and then take public exams. Specialist tutors are employed to support the girls for the period they are working towards exams.

The salary costs for such specialist and highly qualified teachers are between £100 - £150 per month, the costs of which often cannot be covered by the project funding received by Odanadi. Providing support for this project will enable Odanadi to provide the full range of educational activities these girls require.

Odanadi also provides in-house psycho-sexual therapeutic support to help the women and children in its care overcome the traumas they have faced. Again, project funding does not always provide sufficient resources to enable Odanadi to offer this critical support. The salary costs for such specialist and highly qualified therapists are between £100 - £150.
