Library Project
A fantastic project that aims to take a group of 8 young people from Bournmouth UK to India to furnish, equip and decorate the library in Odanadi Orphanage Mysore. The young people involved will also become peer educators and on their return visit schools, youth clubs, community and youth groups as well as businesses to highlight others around the issues of child trafficking and poverty. Several of the young people are from deprived areas and do not have the facility or opportunity to travel, three of the young people have never left the country. This project will help raise awareness of global issues eg. poverty, rights and health. It will also build possible career aspirations and increase the self-esteem of those involved. The young people will also gain a sense of citizenship and community. The young people at Odanadi in exchange will gain access to a fully resourced library giving them the opportunity to educate and empower themselves around women's and childrens' rights.
