Awards won by Odanadi

Awards received by the organisation include the selection of Mr Parashuram ML for the internationally reputed Fellowship of Ashoka-Innovators for the Public which recognises outstanding contributions to social activism and enterprise. Both directors have recently been awarded the Asia Society's Asia 21 2007 Public Service Award. The prize is awarded to only one Asia-Pacific organization per year that has made an outstanding contribution in reaching underprivileged social/economic groups by providing a meaningful service to a community and the public in the region.

The work undertaken by Odanadi is recognised by a range of Indian and international donors. They are currently receiving project funding from UNIFEM to deliver the 'Rural Literacy Programme' (see above). They have previously received funding from the International Organisation for Migration; Charities Aid Foundation (US), Child Rights and You (CRY) and Asha (range of locations) as well as a large number of other donors.

In spite of all of this international recognition, reliance on project funding means that Odanadi does not generally have sufficient resources to systematically provide the full range of support which it knows are required by the women, children and communities. Your help - financial or otherwise - can help Odanadi to offer these services on an ongoing basis.
