Aims and objectives of Odanadi
Odanadi's vision is:
“Justice to the neglected and empowerment of the weak and equality of opportunity for all”
Its aims and objectives are:
- To organise the prostituted and the trafficked into a vocal group fighting against exploitation and facilitate their own empowerment and rehabilitation;
- To integrate the children of exploited women into the mainstream and make them self-reliant through counselling, education and vocational training;
- To prevent women and children from being drawn into trafficking and sexual exploitation;
- To rescue women and children forced into commercial sex and expose the unholy nexus in the flesh trade;
- To assist prevention of unsafe rural-urban migration which is a major contributor to urban prostitution and sexual exploitation;
- To combat HIV-AIDS epidemic and provide care to the terminally afflicted;
- To eradicate the social taboo and rejection of the trafficked and prostituted through sensitization of various social and peer groups;
- To expose human rights violations against women and children in all sections of society;
- To provide support to women and children affected by domestic violence and other social-economic problems;
- To combat and network against child labour.
