About Us

Odanadi UK was founded in 2007 by several people who had done voluntary work at Odanadi's rehabilitation Centre 'Madilu' (which means mother's lap in the local language) in Mysore. The model of support provided by Odanadi to the women and children is innovative, effective and highly respected. However, like many grassroots, community based charities, Odanadi only receives short-term project funding. This type of funding, whilst essential, is a hand to mouth existence and does not enable Odanadi to plan effectively for the future and ensure its longer-term survival.
The trustees of Odanadi UK are drawn from a range of professional backgrounds and include senior managers from UK and international third sector organisations; researchers; theatre directors; graphic designers; video producers; community-based artists. The Board of Trustees is also lucky enough to be able to draw upon the skills and pro-bono support of a range of other professionals.
